Here is a very good specimen of a tooth from Triceratops horridus, a herbiverous dinosaur. This tooth was found in the Cretaceous deposits of South Dakota. This type of dinosaur is a ceratopsian, or ''horned dinosaur''. The tooth is free of matrix and has nice, dark, brownish-black coloration. A portion of the root is still intact and the crown of the tooth exhibits a normal amount of natural wear. The tooth comes in its own plastic display case. This is a fine example of a tooth from Triceratops.
