Name:    Ursus speleaus Jaw
Age:  Pleistocene
Formation:  Cave Deposits
Location:  Carpath Mountains, Romania
Size:  Jaw is 8.4 inches long

This is a very nice cave bear jaw from the Pleistocene of Romania. Cave bear material is becoming harder to obtain as the cave deposits have been heavily collected. Two excellent teeth are retained in the jawbone. The jaw was from a near-adult bear - the large teeth have excellent enamel and exhibit very little wear. The LARGE jawbone is also in very nice condition but for a crack in the rear section. This is a nice, affordable display specimen of a large cave bear jaw with teeth.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
