Name:
Macginitiea wyomingensis (Sycamore Leaf)
Age: Eocene
Formation: Green River Formation
Location: Douglas Pass, Colorado
Size: Leaf is 3 inches long
This is a top quality fossil leaf. It is a beautiful Macginitiea wyomingensis (Sycamore) leaf from the Green River Formation of Colorado. This large leaf is wonderfully complete - all five lobes of the leaf are present and beautifully displayed. The entire, serrated margins of the leaf are easily seen, and the venation is clearly defined. A long petiole (stem) is still tightly attached to the base of the leaf. The natural brown color of the leaf contrasts strikingly with the lighter-colored matrix. The fossil is beautifully displayed on the squared plate of shale. This is a very collectible specimen of a fabulous Sycamore leaf from the Eocene.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
