Here is a very nice fossil leaf. This is Macginitiea wyomingensis, a Sycamore, from the Green River Formation of Colorado. All five lobes of the leaf are easily seen The slightly serrrated margins are exhibited in wonderful fashion, the venation of the leaf is quite distinct, and a long petiole is still tightly attached to the leaf. The brown leaf contrasts beautifully with the khaki-colored matrix. The fossil is well showcased on the large, natural-edged plate of shale. This is a very fine example of a large Sycamore leaf from the Green River Formation.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
