Size:  Amber piece is over 0.5 inches across

This is a very rare find. It is a fossil amber nugget with an insect trapped inside. This amber is 92 to 95 million years old, making it one of the oldest types of amber with insect inclusions. This specimen came from the famous site in Sayreville, New Jersey. The fossil fly has extremely nice form and is easily seen under magnification (see photos). There are also many other inclusions preserved in the amber (enhydros, etc.). This is a very collectible insect in amber from the Time of the Dinosaurs!
