Age:  Cretaceous
Formation:  Albian
Location:  Madagascar
Size:  Each ammonite half is 4.35 inches across

Here is a very striking ammonite fossil. This is a large split pair Cleoniceras cleon from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. This distinct ammonite has been cut in half and highly polished on each side for optimal display. The coiling pattern of the cephalopod is easily seen, and the many chambers are quite distinct. The colorful ammonite is beautifully showcased on a custom metal and wood stand (included). This is a very attractive specimen of a split Cleoniceras with cool display stand included. (Photo is somewhat blurry - the ammonite displays better detail in person.)
