Here is a very striking stromatolite specimen. This is a fine Copperia tubiformis slab from the Precambrian of Australia. Authorities believe that stromatolites were formed by masses of green or blue-green algae, or ''cyanobacteria''. This stromatolite has been estimated to be almost a billion years old! This slab displays well on both sides. The unique color patern is totally natural and makes for a great conversation piece. This is a very displayable specimen of this striking stromatolite form from ''Down Under''.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
