Name:    Kettneraspis and Kainops
Age:  Lower Devonian
Formation:  Haragan Formation
Location:  Coal County, Oklahoma
Size:  Plate is 2.5 inches across

This is a very nice pair of Devonian trilobites. These are Kettneraspis williamsi (left) and Kainops williamsi from the Haragan Formation of Oklahoma. This specimen was found and prepared by the late Eugene Thomas. Both trilobites exhibit excellent detail. The Kettneraspis looks like a moult, as the free cheek has shifted. The Kainops has the exposed compound eyse clearly defined. The inflated bugs have great color and contrast and are well showcased on the sculpted plate of marlstone. This is a cool pair of very different trilobites from Oklahoma.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
