Name:    Cyphaspis boutscharafinense
Age:  Devonian
Formation:  AM Limestone
Location:  Morocco
Size:  Trilobite is 1.15 inches long including spine

This is an excellent spiny trilobite. It is a very large Cyphaspis boutscharafinense from Morocco. This type has a huge, bulbous glabella, long genal spines, and a long axial spine. The axial spine has been wonderfully prepared in a free-standing manner on this specimen. The bug also has very nice stalked eyes. And there are bumps and pustules completely covering the exoskeleton, especially on the glabella. The black fossil contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. The trilobite is nicely showcased on the sculpted block of limestone. This is a great example of this spiny Moroccan Cyphaspis.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
