Name:    Elasmosaurus and Lamna Teeth
Age:  Cretaceous
Formation:  Mosasaur Beds
Location:  Morocco
Size:  Elasmosaurus Tooth is 2.1 inches long

This is a wonderful Plesiosaur tooth from the Cretaceous of Morocco. Plesiosaurs were large, vicious marine reptiles that had extremely long necks and fairly lengthy tails. They swam by means of legs and feet that had developed into oar-like paddles. This dagger-shaped tooth is extremely 3-dimensional and well preserved. The corrugated, brownish enamel is beautifully displayed, and the tip of the tooth is nicely intact. A large portion of the root of the tooth is still preserved. There is also a complete Lamna shark tooth on the plate. The fossils have excellent color and contrast well with the sandy matrix. The teeth are nicely showcased on the block of sandstone - NATURAL, NOT COMPOSITED on the plate. This is a superb example of a Plesiosaur tooth and Shark tooth association from the Cretaceous seas.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
