Name:    Nanotyrannus lancensis
Age:  Cretaceous
Formation:  Hell Creek Formation
Location:  Harding County, South Dakota
Size:  Tooth is about 2.5 inches along curve

This is an exceptionally large Nanotyrannus lancensis tooth from Montana. This specimen was recently acquired from a major dinosaur fossil collection. The tooth is very fine in every way. The enamel is glassy, with no flaking or scaling. The tip is all original with only a very minute wear pattern. The serrations on posterior keel are excellent - the serrations on anterior keel are good, with one area 10 mm. long where they are void, due to usage. The tooth has been professionally repaired with two small areas of fill. The tooth base extends beyond serrations, and the tongue side of the tooth has a small wear facet. This is a very rare tooth from this smaller Tyrannosaurid dinosaur. It is one of the largest and nicest that we have seen!

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
