This is a fossil from a rare flying reptile. It is an excellent Rhamphorrhynchus tooth from the Solnhofen Limestone of Germany. Rhamphorrhynchus was an advanced long-tailed pterosaur that grew to about two feet long. This tooth retains the classic shape with the pointed tip fully intact. The enamel of the tooth is wonderfully preserved and extremely colorful. The tooth displays beautifully and is almost perfectly centered on the squared block of lithographic limestone. This ia a very collectible Pterosaur tooth from the Jurassic Period.
