Formation: Amber Deposits
Location: Baltic Coast, Russia
Size: Amber piece is almost 0.5 inches long
This is a very nice example of a leaf trapped in amber. It is a robust, complete leaf from an unknown Eocene plant. Plants are unusual fossils in amber because they would have had to have fallen into the sap instead of crawling or flying into it. This leaf has good detail and is very definitive. The leaf is easily seen trapped within the amber piece. This is a very fine specimen of a fossil leaf preserved in Baltic Amber.
