This is an excellent fossil fish. It is a very cool Knightia from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. The fossil fish is extremely well preserved and exhibits wonderful detail. The eye socket is easily seen, the fins and tail are very defined, and the backbone is quite evident. This fish has nice, dark coloration and contrasts nicely with the cream-colored rock. The fossil is well showcased on the rectangular matrix plate. This is a beautiful example of a fossil fish from the Eocene.
